American and Iranian negotiators agreed to extend the ceasefire. Trump’s approval is awaited

According to the statements of American representatives, the majority of the terms of the agreement were already negotiated on Tuesday, the server Axios pointed out. However, both parties were waiting for approval from the highest officials.

Although Tehran has not yet officially expressed its consent, Iranian negotiators received permission to sign from the country’s leadership. “However, the head of the White House wants to let the decision go through his head for a few days,” added the source of the American server.

However, according to the Times of Israel portal, Axios does not interpret the state of negotiations quite accurately and refers to the statement of a diplomat from one of the countries that mediated the negotiations between the US and Iran. The Iranian news agency Tasním expressed a similar opinion: “The agreement has not been finalized or confirmed. Reports that claim the opposite are false.”

“Negotiations have made progress and an agreement on a memorandum of understanding is within reach, but neither side has yet given a final answer,” the diplomat said, adding that in such a case it would be inaccurate to say that the negotiators had reached an agreement.

According to Axios, the agreement should establish unlimited shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which the American side understands as not collecting tolls or attacks. In case of approval from both sides, Iran should also remove sea mines from the route within 30 days, in return the Americans will lift the blockade of Iranian ports.

According to the agreement, the US administration should also consider easing sanctions and releasing Iran’s financial reserves. According to Axios, the signing of the agreement would be the most significant breakthrough since the outbreak of the conflict between the US and Iran.
