The Kessler sisters were artistic stars especially in the 1950s and 1960s, reports Bild. The twins were prominent faces of the dance scene at the time, their repertoire also included singing and acting.
She started dancing at the age of six, already at the age of eleven she performed in the Leipzig Opera, in its ballet section. She then left the Eastern Bloc at the age of sixteen, and it was in West Germany that their career took off. The meeting with Elvis Presley also helped them to do this.

It gradually established itself not only in West Germany, but subsequently also in Italy and the United States. She collaborated with, among others, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr. The sisters also participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1959. They finished eighth.
They decided to leave voluntarily after much deliberation. They thoroughly prepared for their move. According to the British organization Dignity in Dying, medical assistance in dying has been legal in Germany since 2019. However, it differs from euthanasia, which is, on the contrary, illegal. Already in the spring, the twins expressed their wish that their ashes rest in one urn. She also specified that they wanted her to be buried next to their mother Elsa and dog Yella.
