Albanian students of universities in North Macedonia will hold a peaceful protest today in Skopje, demanding that the jurisprudence exam be held in the Albanian language.
The protest starts at 12:30 from Ura e Guri and is expected to have massive participation.
The President of the Student Parliament of “Mother Teresa” University, Besar Sejdiu, has called on citizens, institutions and social actors to support the protest, describing it as a cause for the protection of the Albanian language.
“This is not only the struggle of students, but a struggle for the protection of the language“, the organizers stated.
According to the local media, the protest will take place along the defined route: starting from “Karposhovo Vostanie” square, “11 Mars” street, passing through the Stone Bridge, continuing on “Nikola Vapcarov” street and ending on “Dimitrije Čupovski” street, in front of the Ministry of Justice.
Due to the protest, there will be restrictions on road traffic. The Ministry of the Interior has announced that SPB Skopje – the Road Traffic Safety Unit will take measures for a special traffic regime, while calling on citizens to respect police orders.
