The Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ardian Gjini, stated that his party is ready to contribute to the formation of new institutions, but requires a clear written commitment to undertake actions that, according to him, are in the interest of the citizens of Kosovo.
“The new institutions must clearly accept the strategic orientation and accept the American gas project immediately. This is not only an energy project, it is a strategic project that shows the long-term orientation of our state. Our state must start the procedures for the construction of the thermal power plant. Carbon must be used immediately. The new institutions must raise the VAT threshold from 30,000 to 100,000 euros. This was also our electoral promise. Such an action releases the extraordinary potential of small and medium-sized enterprises. We demand that the cultivated lands be immediately released from the property tax, giving breathing space to farmers in Kosovo and encouraging the construction of the land. The new institutions must fully budget for the construction of vital infrastructure in Kosovo, such as the roads for Pejë, Gjilana, Mitrovica and Podujevo. Within the infrastructure, the institutions must commit to five years for Prishtina, between 800 million and 1 billion euros will be allocated, because Prishtina is becoming unlivable, it is crowded”, said Gjini.
Gjini said that the Alliance does not have any personal conditions and does not intend to participate in the next government.
“We are ready to make a quorum, but we are looking for something for the citizens of Kosovo, not for ourselves, we do not have any personal conditions, we do not want ministers, nor deputy ministers, nor ambassadors, nor boards, nothing, but we dare not be indifferent and not use our political weight to regulate the life of the citizens of Kosovo.”
Regarding the possible candidacy of Haradinaj, Gjini said that the country would not have a better president.
“If Ramush Haradinaj is proposed for president, the same formula applies, it would be an honor for us, but we are not setting it as a condition. We think that Kosovo could not have a better president than Ramush Haradinaj now, but we do not want to block Kosovo for this conviction of ours, which is complete and unchangeable”.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo secured 7 deputies in the early parliamentary elections of June 7.
