The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo requested this Monday through the head of the Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, that the Vetëvendosje Movement call the constitutive session of the Assembly to pave the way for the election of the president.
“The votes of the Alliance are on the table for the president. We call for this to happen as soon as possible and we ask that they do not address us either, only to take some legal decisions, which confirm that American gas enters Kosovo. Investments are also happening in those six points, so that I do not repeat them. At the Constitutional Court, we had a discussion, the same was also the night when we requested the session. The night before, we said that the Constitution was violated and now we are referring to it the 48-hour regulation. I don’t think there is a constitutional crisis, but I think there is a political crisis here. The political crisis has been imposed on Kosovo thanks to a political goal of the LVV to have the three positions under control,” he said.
Tahiri accused the LVV of deliberately delaying the formation of institutions so that the date of the new elections is held at the end of the year.
“We do not have an initiative related to an extraordinary session with forty signatures. For now we do not have it and, not having it hypothetically, I cannot give an answer. After any idea that takes the country out of this crisis, we automatically give the signatures to LDK or PDK, or them to us. But there is no reason. The situation is clear. The goal is to extend the term of the constitution of the Assembly in order to create more time for Kurti and he wants to set the date of the elections. With the established institutions, the numbers are known, we have agreed on a lot of serious names, but this can only come into play when we know who is in the Assembly,” he said.
Meanwhile, for the election of the president, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that he has sought cooperation between all political parties. After a meeting last week with LDK representatives, Kurti said that he was interested in a consensual president, that would be an expression of the unity of the people and not only of a political party
