The Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) reported on its website that the emergency call operation center received a request for help from an injured woman at noon. “The subsequent fall caused severe injuries to her head, she was bleeding from her ears and also complained of pain in her upper and lower limbs, where she had burns,” the HZS website reported.
The woman was given first aid by friends who were on the hike with her. “They treated her and warmed her,” added the website.
Unfavorable weather did not allow the deployment of a helicopter, and mountain rescuers set out to the injured woman on the ground. “An intense storm persisted in the area,” said mountain rescuers.
After the health condition of the injured woman improved, a group of friends, accompanied by a random tourist, decided to slowly descend from the peak. When mountain rescuers arrived at the scene, they treated the injured woman and then transported her to Štrbské Pleso. Here she was taken over by the ambulance crew.
Mountain rescuers recommend monitoring the weather forecast when planning a hike, as well as its development during the hike itself.
