A man wanted to attack two women with acid, but the police commando prevented him from doing so

The operation called Leptač was undertaken by police officers from the ÚBOK unit this week. The suspect, identified only by the initials JM, was charged by the investigator with the crime of bodily harm in the preparation stage, the police reported on the social network.

The accused had been preparing for a long time for an extremely brutal attack against two women. According to the police, one of the options was to pour caustic in the face of one of the victims in order to cause severe and permanent health consequences, another option was a physical attack leading to serious injuries.

“Investigations and operational knowledge indicate that the man approached several people regarding the planned attack, to whom he provided photos of the victims, information about their daily movements, exact routes and other instructions needed to carry out the attack. However, thanks to the timely intervention of the special unit, the deed was not completed and the police are now looking for the accused,” they said in the post.

The security forces informed that, as part of the event, a house search and a search of other premises were carried out, during which evidence was secured, including various objects and substances. “Their possible connection with criminal activity is currently the subject of further evaluation. If found guilty, the man faces a prison sentence of up to 12 years,” the police said, adding that they would not yet disclose further details due to the ongoing investigation.
