A citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, with the initials FS, was arrested at the border point in Merdare, in Podujevë, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Espionage”.
The arrest was carried out by the investigators of the Kosovo Police, namely by the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes, by order of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the authorities, the arrest was preceded by investigative actions taken by the competent institutions.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office has announced that, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, it will continue the investigations with the aim of fully elucidating the circumstances of the case and securing the relevant evidence.
“The institutions reaffirm their commitment to fighting and prosecuting criminal cases, as well as bringing to justice all persons for whom there are reasonable suspicions of involvement in illegal activities, in particular those who violate national security,” the announcement of the Special Prosecutor’s Office states.
