The police did not comment on the information about the other suspect. In the same way, the supervising public prosecutor refused to provide further details, saying that the criminal proceedings are not open to the public. A well-informed source confirmed to Novinkám that detectives arrested the second suspect based on new evidence. “Witness statements and the scent trail are key,” said the source.
The torso of a body without a head, with organs cut out and genitals missing, was fished out by the police more than a year ago under a footbridge in the Pecihrádek locality. It was in the water for about a month. After the autopsy, the forensic doctors clearly said that it was a violent death. Later, a random passerby found a head that belonged to the victim in the Radbuze river in the city center.
The murdered man was a 33-year-old Slovak homeless man who lived on the street in Pilsen for about three years and had the nickname Čobol. The way the perpetrator handled the body shocked even experienced criminal investigators. In addition to the head, he also cut off the genitals and cut out most of the internal organs. The dead man was also missing part of his buttocks.

He denied the accusation of murder
The police linked TH to the murder last March and imposed an information embargo on the case. But the accused himself resolutely denied the guilt. “I didn’t kill anyone,” he said last April at the Pilsen District Court, where he confessed to theft and driving without a driver’s license.
During the main trial, he confessed to minor crimes from 2022 and 2023. According to the file, he stole cables with non-ferrous metals from railway cars, diesel from a truck and drove a car while he was banned. “But you won’t blame the murder on me,” said the man nicknamed Gumák resolutely, even though the judge pointed out to him that this case is not the subject of the indictment and that he does not have to comment on it in any way.
TH has convictions for dozens of thefts, but also for non-payment of alimony or driving without a driver’s license. The last time he ended up behind bars was for assaulting his partner. According to the judgment from May 2020, the man attacked his girlfriend at the time and broke her shoulder blade. Then he forced the woman to lie covered in bed and threatened to gouge out her eyes if she got out.
He returned to freedom in February 2022. However, there was no improvement. On the other hand, before the latest accusation of murder, the police arrested him twice more behind the wheel of a car where he had nothing to do, and he is guilty of the already mentioned thefts in the area of the Czech Railways, for which he received an unconditional two-year sentence last April.
