Police spokesman Jan Daněk informed about the case from March 20 on Wednesday. The cyclist was riding down from Letná Park to Čechovo Most when the battery fell out of his bike.
“It hit the leg of a 12-year-old pedestrian and injured him. The cyclist, who spoke with an eastern accent, picked up the battery and reattached it to the e-bike. Then he drove away from the scene of the accident,” said the spokesman.
The boy had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital with a partial fracture of the ankle joint.
“The accident is being investigated for suspicion of committing a criminal offense of causing bodily harm due to negligence, which is punishable by up to one year in prison. If anyone recognizes the man in the attached photo, please call 158,” added Daněk.
