Jaconisová and her 29-year-old boyfriend Livio Rousseau are seen walking down the street laden with luggage on security camera footage. The statue then hits the woman in the head and her lifeless body falls to the ground. The desperate friend then tries to call for help.
In connection with the tragedy, the family living in the apartment, from whose balcony the statue fell on the street, is being investigated.
“The couple have two children, and at the moment it is not ruled out that one of the two children toppled the statuette,” the RAI agency wrote on Thursday, adding that investigators now consider this version to be the most likely.
In a church near the scene of the tragedy, a memorial service was held on Thursday, attended by hundreds of local residents along with the family of the murdered woman, the agency added.
Jaconis was in Naples as a tourist. The woman originally from Padua in northern Italy was the manager of the fashion brand Prada, according to her professional profile she was in charge of a total of 15 branches in France, Monaco and Belgium.
