“Not in my name”, another protest in front of the Assembly of Kosovo, demanding the approval of the Law on Special

Protests have started in front of the Assembly of Kosovo, called by the Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army, with a request for approval in the second reading of the Law on Specialized Chambers and the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor.

The protest, announced as a popular gathering, started at 12:00, while the protesters demand that the Assembly proceed with the final approval of the changes in the law.

Çlirim Haziri from the “Not in my name” platform also spoke at the protest, who warned that the protest will not end if the issue of electing the president is not resolved during the day and the country moves towards new elections.

Haziri called on the MPs to vote on the draft law, stating that “today is the last day” and that the MPs should put party interests first.

He also warned that, if the law is not passed and the country goes to elections, the protesters will continue to oppose the electoral activities of the parties.

“We will not allow a campaign or ordinary gatherings,” Haziri declared, adding that the protest will continue if the law is not approved.

During his speech, Haziri also criticized the Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Minister of the Interior, Xelal Sveçla, accusing them of using the Police against the protesters during the rally the day before.

According to him, during yesterday’s protest there were clashes between the police and the protesters, while he claimed that KLA veterans and family members of the martyrs were also hit.

Other representatives of the platform “Not in my name” have stated that they will remain in front of the Assembly until the session is called for the consideration and approval in the second reading of the Draft Law on the Special.
