The citizens of Kosovo, but not only, are expected to gather for the fifth night in a row in “Skënderbeu” square in Pristina to protest against the sentence by the Special Court of The Hague of former president Hashim Thaçi, former parliamentarians Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former deputy Rexhep Selimi.
The protest that starts at 21:00 is held under the slogan “Not in my name”, as a response to the phrase “in the name of the people of Kosovo”, with which the head of the judicial body of The Hague started giving the verdict against four former high officials of the country.
Another protest is expected to be held against the Hague decision in Pristina on Monday morning. This time it will be the students who at 11:30 will leave from the Student Center with destination “Skënderbeu” square.
“The Student Parliament of the University of Prishtina feels a moral obligation and civic responsibility to raise its voice today against the decision that we consider deeply unfair to our liberators. We have no way to be calm until those who brought us freedom, thanks to whom we study and get a free education today, are in The Hague,” said Humolli.
It is expected that in their protest, the students will demand unconditional financial support as well as full political and moral support for the accused until the end of the process and until they can return to their families.
