Bekim Sejdiu, the consensus candidate for president, AAK reacts: We were not asked, their political burden

After weeks of negotiations, the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) have reached an agreement on the election of Bekim Sejdi as the consensual candidate for president of Kosovo. The agreement between the two political forces was announced in the Assembly, while the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) stated that it was not involved in the negotiations.

The head of the AAK Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, during his speech in the Assembly said that his party was not consulted on the agreement.

“What agreement was made, we were not asked either before or after. We tell you that it is your political burden. The alliance rests on what has a public political contract, its 6 points”Tahiri declared.

Terms of AAK:

Strategic orientation and American gas: The immediate acceptance of the American gas project as a project of vital importance to the long-term orientation of the state.

Energy independence: Immediate initiation of procedures for the construction of a coal-fired power plant, to guarantee economic development and reduction of inflation.

Facilitation for small businesses: Immediate raising of the VAT threshold from 30,000 to 100,000 euros, to unlock the potential of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Support for agriculture: Complete exemption of cultivated land from property tax, with the aim of encouraging land cultivation and direct support to farmers.

Infrastructure budgeting: Full budget financing of vital infrastructure projects in Kosovo, which are currently suspended due to lack of funds.

Emergency fund for the capital: Allocation of 800 million to 1 billion euros for Pristina, which, according to him, is becoming unviable in the absence of capital investments.
