Today, the Kosovo Police presented the weaponry, ammunition, uniforms and other equipment found and confiscated during police operations carried out in several locations north of Mitrovica.
The arsenal was exposed at the “Enver Zymeri” Special Units Center in Mitrovica, where an extraordinary press conference was held.
The acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, as well as the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, participated in the conference.
They presented the results of the latest operations, emphasizing that a significant amount of weaponry, ammunition and military equipment was seized in the villages around Kalludra in Zubin Potok.
Sveçla stated that this discovery is the result of an intensive investigation and inter-institutional cooperation, adding that the arsenals found are related to the areas where three mass graves were discovered with the remains of 23 people.
“This arsenal of weapons, ammunition and equipment was found in the villages around Kalludra of Zubin Potok, an area already known to all of us. Exactly where three mass graves were discovered in recent weeks, in which the remains of 23 people were found”, said Sveçla.
He emphasized that the seizure of weapons and the discovery of mass graves are evidence of crimes committed during the last war in Kosovo, recalling that the north of the country was used to hide the bodies of the victims.
According to him, the remains of 13, 4 and 6 people were found in three different locations.
The acting minister added that Serbia has continuously invested in keeping the north destabilized and resistant to Kosovo’s security institutions.
The Kosovo Police, during the conference, publicly presented the confiscated weaponry, ammunition and equipment, underlining that operations will continue to guarantee order and security in the north of the country.
