Istanbul Governorship and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) warned about the new weather system that is expected to be effective throughout the province.

It was stated that the temperatures, which remained in the range of 31-34 degrees throughout the week, would drop noticeably as of Saturday. It was noted that with the cool air coming from the Balkans entering the region, thermometers are expected to drop to around 27 degrees.
IT WILL START AT 8 AM
The rainy weather system, which is expected to start at 08.00 on Saturday, is expected to continue its effect until 20.00. It is predicted that unstable weather conditions resulting from the encounter of hot and humid air with cool air coming from the north may increase the intensity of precipitation. While strong thunderstorms that may reach 10-30 kg/m2 are expected in different parts of Istanbul, it is estimated that lightning, lightning and small-scale local hail events may also occur during this period.
IT WILL BE ESPECIALLY EFFECTIVE ON THE EUROPEAN SIDE
In the statement made by the Governorship, it was stated that according to the evaluation of the General Directorate of Meteorology, thunderstorms in Istanbul are expected to be strong tomorrow in the Çatalca, Silivri, Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Esenyurt, Arnavutköy and Başakşehir districts of the European Side from morning hours until the evening.
It was stated in the statement that the wind would blow from the north in moderate strength and occasionally strong, and that citizens should be careful and cautious against negativities such as floods, floods, lightning, small-scale hail and disruptions in transportation that may be caused by heavy rain and wind.
