Another fatal accident, in which three other people were seriously injured, happened on Friday in Mosteck. In Lhotka near Beroun in the Central Bohemia region, a van drove off on its own, pinning the driver against a fence. The last of the fatal accidents happened in the Pardubice region. A total of 344 accidents were registered on Friday.
Since the beginning of this year, the number of victims of traffic accidents has risen to 181. Last year, there were 183 in the first half of the year. The most tragic day of last year was June 15. At that time, eight people lost their lives in accidents.
Even with regard to the extreme temperatures, which increase the demands on drivers, the police officers appealed to people to drive carefully and fully devote themselves to driving.
