“I have never received unauthorized rewards from a city company, like someone…,” declared Prokop in an obvious allusion to Hřib and his earlier case regarding mistakenly paid money from PRE Holding. However, according to Novinek’s findings, Prokop was returning the money paid by the city company Jihoměstská majetková, so he is not telling the truth in the video. He was the head of the board of directors at Prokop.
Between December 2019 and June 2020, Prokop was illegally paid 96,178 crowns gross. For the municipal company, this meant almost 130 thousand crowns after taking into account the mandatory levies, as can be seen from the statements of the municipal company from 2021, which are available to Fairpress together with the payroll. From a legal point of view, it was unjust enrichment.
The error was discovered in April 2021 during the revision of the payroll after the new accountant took office. The municipal company resolved the situation with a settlement agreement. In it, Prokop acknowledged that he had enriched himself at the expense of the company, and undertook to return the entire amount, including levies. He also did this and paid the owed amount in cash at the company’s cash register.
News tried to contact Prokop by phone on Thursday afternoon to clarify the situation, but he did not pick up the phone.
Prokop did not mention the trio of cooperative apartments in the declaration that public officials file in the Central Register of Notifications. After being notified by the Seznam Zprávy server, he first admitted ownership of one cooperative apartment with a purchase price of 2.7 million crowns. However, as part of the modification of the notification, he also entered the ownership of two other cooperative apartments with the same price of 2.6 million crowns into the register. In addition to these apartments, he bought another apartment worth almost 20 million crowns on a mortgage.
