After the crime, the man ran away from the school and drove away in a car. After 22 kilometers, he shot himself in the head while driving at high speed, after which the vehicle crashed head-on into a tree near the village of Freinberg. The man was dead on the spot, reported the daily Oberösterreichische Nachrichten.
The tragedy took place on Friday around 5 pm. Initially, the investigators believed that the two teachers were a couple. But that was not confirmed. In fact, the teacher sought the favor of his colleague, but she did not reciprocate his efforts.

“The trigger of the act was probably the fact that the teacher had recently found a boyfriend,” Alois Ebner, spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office, reported according to Kronen Zeitung.
There are no direct witnesses to the tragedy in the police library. The teacher’s mother began to worry after her daughter did not return home from work.

She therefore drove to the school, where she saw her daughter’s car in the parking lot. After that, the janitor searched the building until she found her dead daughter in the library.
The school management, in cooperation with the crisis management units, launched measures to support students, teaching staff and relatives.
