The process of counting diaspora votes at the Counting and Results Center is once again changing the balance of the parliamentary elections in Kosovo. So far, about a fifth of the mailboxes have been opened, where the Vetëvendosje Movement is convincingly leading by receiving over sixty-nine percent of these votes.
This high result has provided the party with three additional mandates in the parliament, bringing the number of deputies from forty-eight to fifty-one seats. Meanwhile, the other main opposition parties come far behind with a fairly large margin of votes.
According to official data, until now, the Democratic Party of Kosovo has secured twenty-three mandates, the Democratic League has nineteen, while the AAK is left with seven deputies.
The head of the CEC, Valmir Elezi, confirmed that the process is proceeding normally and without problems, but the last data is still expected to be entered into the system. Meanwhile, the conditional votes and those of persons with special needs remained uncounted, while the counting in the diplomatic missions and in the Municipal Counting Centers has ended.
