Elections in Kosovo/ The numbers are coming out, participation is down compared to December 28

The Central Election Commission in Kosovo has announced that until 15:00 in today’s elections, 445,622 citizens have voted, representing 22.74 percent of the electorate with the right to vote.

The data show a significant drop in participation compared to the December 28 elections last year. In the same hour of that election process, 585,635 citizens had voted, or 29.29 percent of the voters, which means that this time 140,013 fewer people went to the polls.

Despite the lower number of voters, the chairman of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi, has stated that the election process is taking place in a calm manner and without incidents that could affect the integrity of the elections.

The CEC is expected to publish the next report on voting participation at 19:30, when the voting process ends and the polling stations close.
