In Kosovo, the voting process for the parliamentary elections has closed, while the counting of votes is expected to start in the whole country. The first results are expected to be published in the following hours, while attention is focused on the formation of the new government.
Exit polls published by several television stations in Kosovo put the Self-Determination Movement (LVV) in first place, with about 42 percent of the votes, significantly less compared to the over 51 percent it won in the December 28 elections.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, said that the process was conducted in an orderly manner and without incidents that would affect its progress.
According to preliminary data, he said that 712,148 citizens, or 36.33 percent of the electorate, exercised their right to vote. For comparison, in the elections of December 28, 2025, 44.99 percent voted.
The process is being monitored by local and international observers, while the CEC has warned that it will publish updated data at regular intervals.
About 2 million citizens of Kosovo had the right to vote in the early parliamentary elections of June 7, which were organized after the failure of the Assembly to elect the president.
22 political parties and three pre-election coalitions participated in the race. The elections took place without incidents that would affect the smooth running of the process.
