According to him, Moscow will use the funds for the production of weapons, especially drones, which it uses extensively in attacks on Ukraine, but also in attacks in the Middle East.
“Removing sanctions just so that more drones will fly at you later is not the right decision in my opinion,” he added. The United States claims that Russia will not have significant financial benefits from the change.
On Thursday, the USA allowed countries to buy Russian oil already loaded on tankers at sea for 30 days. It was announced by the American Minister of Finance, Scott Bessent, saying that it is an effort to stabilize world energy markets. Shops can thus continue until April 11.
