With the slogan “We won’t let the future be stolen”, the official program on the Letenská plain will start at 3 p.m.
The association Milion chvilek mainly criticizes the downplaying of security threats and the weakening of the state’s defense capabilities, the destruction of culture, the environment, the civil sector and the rule of law. And they also warn against possible interference with the independence of public media.
“Babiš and Okamura hid from justice, Moravec ends up at CT, Macinka wants to stop foreign radio broadcasting, Okamura is pressuring Klempir to shut down the media – and now it has become clear that Rajchl and Babiš’s pro-Russian advisor Vachatová are even preparing a so-called Russian law as described by Putin and Orbán, which will go down the throats of all non-profit organizations,” the chairman of the association wrote in the invitation to the event Mikuláš Minář.
According to him, Babiš, SPD and Motorists are pushing the Czech Republic on the Hungarian and Slovak path.
“It goes faster than you think. If we don’t want to end up like in Slovakia and Hungary, we have to face it while there is time,” warned the association’s spokesperson Robin Suchánek.
The demonstration will be a civic activity that should not be misused for political advertising, therefore no politician will appear on stage.
“However, many participants will consider how to participate in the renaissance of partisanship in our country. They are already contacting us. We therefore believe that after the demonstration, the political parties will come up with their offer,” the organizers said in their statement on Facebook.
So far, the last demonstration was called by Milion chvilek on February 15 this year. Back then, it was mainly about the support of President Petr Pavl and the defense of democratic institutions. Protests took place in about 410 places in the Czech Republic and abroad.
