Ukrainian drones attacked Smolensk. The target could be a refinery or an aircraft factory

“In the Smolensk region, the attack of Ukrainian drones continues! Air defense intervenes in the regional center,” Governor Vasilij Anokhin wrote on the Telegram social network. He urged the inhabitants of the city to remain calm and to avoid open spaces. He also warned against filming anti-aircraft fire or touching the wreckage of drones.

Later, the governor claimed that the air defense repulsed the attempted airstrike and that everything was done without casualties or injuries, only with damage to several roofs and windows as a result of falling drone debris. At the same time, he warned against false news and footage from social networks, intended to cause panic, and encouraged to trust only official information.

Russian air defense shot down 55 Ukrainian drones over six Russian regions during the night: 22 over Bryansk, 12 over Rostov, ten over Smolensk, six over Voronezh, four over Saratov and one over the Kursk region, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported according to the TASS agency.

In the Voronezh region, Ukrainian drones again attacked and set fire to a fuel warehouse in the Russian city of Liski, located more than 100 kilometers south of Voronezh, on Monday evening. The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, informed about the fire as a result of the fall of one of the drones in the warehouse area, whose statement was quoted by the Russian and Ukrainian media.

During the past year, Ukrainian drones launched at least 81 attacks on Russian refineries and fuel warehouses and caused fires in at least 64 cases, the BBC News server noted, according to which during the year the attacks were more concentrated on equipment used to supply Russian troops. According to the portal, the raids led to a decrease in the production of gasoline and diesel in Russia and an increase in fuel prices.
