Trump accused Ukraine of ingratitude – Novinky

The head of the White House published his critical words in a post on the Truth Social network. “The Ukrainian ‘leadership’ has shown no appreciation for our efforts,” Trump wrote in capital letters, putting the word “leadership” in quotation marks.

Trump expressed himself in this way on the day when in Geneva the American delegation is negotiating with representatives of Ukraine and European countries on how to end the war that was started by Russia three and three quarters of a year ago.

He described the war between Russia and Ukraine as “violent” and “terrible”. He repeated his earlier claim that if he and not “sleepy” Joe Biden had been president at the time of the Russian invasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin would never have attacked the neighboring country. With Biden in the White House, Putin said to himself, “now is my chance.”

Russia originally expected only a military operation lasting a few days, Ukraine is still defending itself against aggression with its extensive arsenal and other help from the USA and Western countries.

“I inherited a war that should never have happened. A war that is a loss for everyone, especially the millions of people who died needlessly,” Trump continued. He noted that the US continues to sell the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) a large number of weapons intended for Ukraine. He added that “crooked Joe (Biden) gave everything for free, including big money.”

In the post, Trump also took a brief swipe at Europe for “continuing to buy oil from Russia”.

In Geneva on Sunday, representatives of allied countries discussed the plan to end the war in Ukraine, which was prepared by the United States after consultations with Russian officials. The proposal foresees, among other things, that Ukraine will lose a significant part of its territory, limit its army to a maximum of 600,000 soldiers and undertake not to join NATO. Ukrainian representatives, large European countries, but also Canada and Japan are striving to change the plan.
