Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Vice President Mahmut Çevik visited the nursery, which was restored and furnished by TİKA, within the scope of his contacts in Albania.
During his visit to the “Butterflies” nursery No. 11 in the capital Tirana, Çevik was accompanied by the Turkish Ambassador to Tirana, Tayyar Kağan Atay, TİKA Tirana Coordinator Mustafa Ata, and representatives of the Tirana Municipality.
Speaking to AA correspondent, Çevik said that they carried out 1000 projects in the field of education in the Balkans, 131 of which were in Albania.
Çevik said, “When we see the happiness of the children here, the following comes to mind; with the cognitive, social and emotional training given to the children, by creating a beautiful play environment with the equipment provided by TİKA, we contribute to the development of their emotions, their consciousness, their physical and coordination skills, and the development of their motor systems.”
Ambassador Atay also stated that TIKA, with the permission of the Albanian authorities, has created an environment where families can leave their children with peace of mind, and noted the following:
“One thing I have noticed in Albania is that women’s participation in the workforce is very high, women are active in every aspect of life. This is a fact that needs to be preserved. By modernizing these nurseries and providing support, we ensure that mothers and women’s participation in the workforce is not left behind because of children.”
Zhaneta Beqiri, General Director of Nurseries and Kindergartens within the Municipality of Tirana, also emphasized that TIKA’s contributions had an impact on improving the quality of services, adding, “We are grateful for this support and cooperation throughout the years.”
