The girls (14, 16) were rescued by volunteer firefighters from Bechyně and a unit from Týn nad Vltavou. They were left hanging on ropes about a meter above the river. Firefighters reached them on a motorboat. They took them off the ropes and took them to the shore, where they were handed over to rescuers.
“The rescuers examined the girls on the spot. They did not show any signs of injury and it was not necessary to transport them to the hospital,” said Petra Kafková, spokesperson for the rescuers.
According to Novinek, the girls climbed faster than their mother and ran out of strength after a few tens of meters. They were so exhausted that they were unable to move.

Bechyňská ferrata is one of the most demanding in the country. For the most part, it is guided in a horizontal, overhanging traverse. It is unique in that it has a rope bridge. The disadvantage is that it is impassable. Therefore, it is necessary to return via via ferrata by the same route. It has a well-fixed steel rope and almost the entire length of artificial steps. Some passages require clicking with only one hand.
“The trip season is starting, don’t overestimate your strength,” rescuers appeal.
