The man reported to the department in Prostějov and stated that he and his family got off the steam train in Zábřeh that had been set out on the occasion of the St. Nicholas Day.
According to his statement, after the performance, they found themselves in front of the service transition and had no idea that there was an underpass in the place, because they were said to be in Zábřeh for the first time. There was also a crowd of people on the platform.
“He didn’t see a sign prohibiting crossing the tracks anywhere, and that’s why he decided to cross the given crossing,” police spokesman Libor Hejtman described the man’s explanation, saying that the incident, which could have ended in tragedy, affected the family and they are very sorry.
With the new timetable, trains will become more expensive
Economy
The police qualified the incident as a misdemeanor, which will probably be reported to the administrative office. Actors face a fine of up to 10,000 crowns.
On Sunday afternoon, the family was crossing the tracks in front of a departing train, from behind which a pendolino set heading from Ostrava to Prague subsequently rushed out.
Passers-by, who apparently did not see the pendolino, got off the track literally at the last moment. The train driver managed to use the speed brake, he would not have had a chance to prevent the imminent collision.
People with children running around the Zábřeh dormitory were almost swept away by a pendolino. A video is circulating on the networks
