The new president of Kosovo, PDK, declares that he will not vote for Osmani

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has no vote for Vjosa Osmani. This is what the chairman of the parliamentary group of this force, Arian Tahiri, said to the journalists.

“It’s not that I want to name names. The country is not honored by someone who had a one-sided approach yesterday and who represents only one group or subject, but we are talking about someone who is above the political parties,” he said.

A day after the members of the Jashari family expressed that they had no intention of becoming part of the race for the post of president, Tahiri emphasized that the party he belongs to supports for president someone who represents political and civic unity.

“The country is honored and the PDK supports someone who does not represent only a political party. He does not represent only the position or only the opposition, but someone who represents both the position, the opposition and the citizens who really do not vote for the president directly. Someone who has contributions and is intellectual and honors the state and the citizens of Kosovo. We continue to remain within these positions, in the sense of what was discussed with me in principle and standard about who should fulfill these attributes for to become the president of the country. It is not yet the stage that we have spoken in individual names. The PDK’s will is to contribute to the interests of the country’s institutions, but if no one can be elected and there is no disposition from the main political force, the PDK is ready to go to the elections,” he said.

Meanwhile, the US envoy, Anu Pratipati, was in the presidency on Thursday, where she met with Osmani, the only one who has expressed her ambitions to run again for the high post and whose mandate ends on April 4. according to the constitution, the successor must be chosen 30 days before this date and through a voting process that requires a qualified majority in the Assembly. For the officialization of the candidacy, Osmani must collect 30 deputies’ signatures and at least one other candidate must compete with him.
