Christmas would not be Christmas without an Advent wreath. In the past, three candles were purple and one pink, each with its own name and associated meaning.
The purple “candle of the prophets” was the first to be lit, which was a memorial to the prophets who predicted the coming of the Savior. As the second purple “Bethlehem”, which was a symbol of the manger where little Jesus was born. As the third pink “shepherd”, which symbolized the joy of the approaching Christmas holidays. Last came the purple “angelic”, which brought with it love, peace and peace of mind.
