Albulena Haxhiu, the Acting President of Kosovo, announced that on August 6, at 10:00, the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo will be held.
Haxhiu has called on the political parties to intensify the discussions for reaching an agreement, in order to pave the way for the formation of institutions.
She emphasized that the constitutional link between the constitution of the Assembly and the election of the president has made her cautious in making the decision to call the session.
“Since there is still no political agreement on the issue of the president, I have decided not to urgently call the constitutive session, but to use the deadline to create the necessary space for the political parties. The constitutive session will be held on August 6 at 10:00 a.m. Until then, it remains the obligation of the political subjects to continue the dialogue,” said Haxhiu.
She underlined that going to the elections should be avoided, inviting the parties to show political and institutional responsibility.
