Our country is expected to be affected by the cold and rainy system coming from the Balkans starting from Sunday. Snowfall will be effective in many of our provinces, including Istanbul, starting from the week.
According to the statement made by the Meteorology; Thrace and Marmara Region is expected to be under the influence of the cold and rainy system coming from the Balkans as of Sunday. It was stated that this situation will turn into sleet in Thrace and Istanbul as of Tuesday with the decrease in air temperatures.
“Accordingly, it is estimated that the rainfall, which will start as torrential downpours and occasionally thunderstorms in our region, will affect the entire region over time. Starting from Tuesday, 09.01.2024, with the decrease in air temperatures, it is expected to be rain, sleet in Thrace and Istanbul over time, and light snowfall in the north and high parts of our region,” it was said.
“TEMPERATURE WILL DROPP 10-12 DEGREES AT ONCE”
CNN TURK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen said in a post on his social media account, “On Tuesday, January 9, the temperature will drop by 10-12 degrees and sleet and snow will begin in the country except for the coastal Aegean, Mediterranean and Thrace regions. It will continue on Wednesday, January 10.”
