The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, during her official visit to Kosovo held a meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, where the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation in the service of common strategic objectives was discussed.
Spiropali emphasized that the joint meetings of the Assemblies of Albania and Kosovo are not just an institutional calendar, but an expression of the common will to act together.
“The joint meetings of the Assemblies of Albania and Kosovo are not just an institutional calendar. They are the highest expression of our will to act together – with law, with responsibility and with vision,” – said Spiropali.
During the meeting, the parties talked about the deepening of parliamentary cooperation, as well as the obligations stemming from the common history of the two countries. An important point of discussion was the adoption by both Assemblies of Resolutions in support of the former leaders of the KLA who are being tried in the Specialized Chambers.
Spiropali underlined that, “Justice must be fair. The struggle for freedom of the people of Kosovo cannot be relativized. The dignity of those who represented that war is part of our national consciousness. This is an obligation we hold together.”
