Six injured after a knife attack in Israel, the terrorist was pacified by armed civilians

The Times of Israel reports on the incident, according to which the terrorist was driven into a dead end by armed residents. They managed to detain him until the local police arrived.

The video published on the social network apparently shows the moment when a number of armed civilians surrounded the suspect with a gun in hand. Residents shouted at the man in Hebrew and English to “lay down”, but he did not obey.

At least two warning shots were fired into the air before one of the men fired at the suspect. Armed policemen then arrived at the scene and neutralized the man.

Law enforcement officers identified the man as an Arab Israeli living in Umm al-Fahma. He also committed criminal activities in the past.

According to information from the local police, one of the persons has moderate injuries, three persons are in serious condition and two are in critical condition. The director of the emergency department at Hillel Yaffe Hospital said that four of the victims underwent surgery.

“I want to emphasize that the Israeli police are extremely busy these days, as you can certainly understand,” said the head of the police force, Daniel Levy. “I feel sorry for the injured and their families, but it seems that this is the reality we are facing now, we have to be strong,” he added. The mayor of the city, Nir Ben Haim, also praised the bravery of the local residents.

The attack came two days after the anniversary of the October 7 mass attack by Hamas terrorists on southern Israel. At the same time, in the last two weeks, Israel recorded other similar incidents, in one of which a 19-year-old sergeant of the border police was killed by a shooter at the bus station in Beer Sheva. In the second attack in Jaffa, seven people were killed and at least eight others were injured.
