His successor on the upcoming tour will be Sebastian Bach, an excellent American singer who succeeded not only as a soloist, but at the turn of the eighties and nineties as the frontman of the band Skid Row.
Dee Snider has resigned as a member of Twisted Sister after battling degenerative arthritis for many years. He left the group he had been leading since 1976 because he was suffering from pain. In the course of recent years, he underwent several operations, but today he is able to perform only a few songs on stage.
The band said in a statement: “Dee has recently found that the intensity he has devoted to his life’s work has taken its toll. He can no longer push the boundaries of rock and roll ferocity as he has done for decades.”
Dee Snider added, “I don’t know any other way to play rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather leave than be a shadow of my former self.”
He currently explained that his departure was not easy. He told Blabbermouth magazine: “I was faced with mortality. The doctor said, ‘You’re doing great for seventy-one years, but you can’t do this anymore. It’s over. Your body is worn out.’

He added: “I was hoping that a hip replacement would solve everything, but then I found out that I also have high blood pressure and heart problems. My dad is ninety-five years old, so I plan to live a long time too, but I had to make a decision. Well, my family begged me to give it up.”
The band Twisted Sister has not yet announced the dates of its concerts with Sebastian Bach this year.
