Security and stability, key topics at the European Political Community Summit-Vjosa Osmani represents Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will represent Kosovo at the Summit of European Political Community (EPC) leaders, held today in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This Edition of the Summit will gather 45 European leaders, including leaders of European Union institutions, to discuss key issues of security, cooperation and stability on the continent.

According to the Kosovo Presidency announcement, before the start of the summit, President Osmani will be received by King Frederick X and Queen Mary of Denmark, in a ceremonial meeting that underlines the importance of this event.

During the summit, Osman will attend both major sessions, where leaders will address the most pressing challenges Europe faces, including hybrid threats and unprecedented provocations by Russia to NATO member states.

One of the highlights of the summit will be the discussion table on security challenges, where President Osmani is expected to make her contribution to increasing hybrid threats and Russian aggression.

The presidency announcement states that European leaders will consider ways to exploit the political momentum to make necessary decisions, including strengthening Europe’s defensive readiness.

These discussions come at a time when tensions between Russia and NATO have escalated, especially after recent violations of member states such as Poland, Romania and Estonia from Russian aircraft and drones.

Within the summit, President Osmani will also hold meetings with European leaders participating in the summit.

The European Political Community (EPC) is a platform for European leaders discussing the main issues facing the continent. Launched in 2022, EPC aims to strengthen political and economic ties across Europe, to provide solutions to common challenges and deepen cooperation between EU countries and those abroad.
