Russia fired at least 60 North Korean ballistic missiles at Ukraine

“It is obvious that the production technology is outdated,” said Čerňak. “Despite that, they (missiles) represent a serious danger for Ukraine,” he added, according to RFE/RL.

North Korea supplied Russia with more than eight million artillery shells and approximately one hundred short-range ballistic missiles, including KN-23/24 missiles.

At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence announced that 2,000 North Koreans had already been transferred directly to combat units of the Russian army, and another 9,000 DPRK soldiers remain in closed camps on Russian territory under the command of three North Korean generals, Čerňak said according to RFE/RL.

According to Čerňak, the North Koreans undergo general military training and courses for combat drone operators at training grounds mainly in the Kursk region. Here they are also experiencing their first sharp deployment and have the goal of displacing the Ukrainian forces, who are holding roughly 800 square kilometers of Russian territory there.

After returning home, they will be trained as specialists in combating unmanned vehicles, said the HUR spokesman. According to him, North Korean soldiers who survive their deployment in Russia will most likely become instructors capable of teaching the million-strong army of the DPRK new methods of combat and new conditions of combat operations. “This is a danger for the entire region, South Korea and Japan and all the democratic countries there,” concluded Čerňak.
