Osmani Calling Political Parties: Set the country’s interest before political differences, functional government is needed

Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, has addressed a call to political parties to reach an agreement with each other and to form state institutions. In an interview with Polish television “TVP World”, Osman addressed political entities, asking them to establish the country’s interests in front of personal ones.

According to Osman, the stalemate created by the non -consistent of the Assembly, despite the constitutional judgment, is directly affecting the country’s projects. Osmani added that Kosovo is losing important European Union projects and opportunities for cooperation with the new administration of the United States of America.

I take this opportunity to call again to all political parties to decide the country’s interest before and to overlook the differences. They should try to form a coalition of the parliamentary majority that will move Kosovo forward. Most of the agreements must go to the Assembly for ratification and the government for implementation. Citizens of Kosovo deserve a functioning government and with full capacity ”Osmani said, adding that Kosovo cannot stay long without functional institutions as this affects the slowdown of reforms and the process of membership in international organizations.

The day before the Assembly was again convened to vote on the names proposed by political entities for Speaker of Parliament, but without producing a result, as the names proposed by the Vetevendosje Movement did not receive the necessary votes.

The next plenary session will be held on Wednesday (August 26) at 11:00.
