North Macedonia Rising in Investment

Halil Bedzeti, Honorary Consul of NORTH Macedonia in Bursa, said, “North Macedonia has now become the rising star of the Balkans. There are return incentives of up to 50 percent given by the state. The land is rented for 99 years by the State of North Macedonia.”

Northern Macedonia Bursa Honorary Consul Halil Bedzeti attended the ‘North Macedonia Investment Opportunities’ meeting hosted by the Rumelian Executive Businessmen and Industrialists Association (RUMELISIAD) in Bursa. Speaking at the meeting, Halil Bedzeti said that North Macedonia is one of the favorite countries of the Balkans. Bedzeti made a presentation on the data he compiled from the data of the North Macedonia Investment and Export Promotion Agency, in the program where RUMELİSİAD Chairman Murat Evke and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Yıldız were also present.

Stating that investment incentives in North Macedonia are intensively supported by the state, Halil Bedzeti said, “Of course, North Macedonia is seen as a rising star in the Balkans. Because there are huge investment opportunities in North Macedonia. There are huge investment opportunities, especially in many sectors. There are incentives given by the state, and there are huge return incentives of up to 50 percent in terms of investment, construction, and machinery. In terms of land, it is given by the State of North Macedonia for 99 years by full rental. “North Macedonia has now become the rising star of the Balkans,” he said.

‘WE HAVE 5-6 COMPANIES FROM Türkiye’

Bedzeti stated that North Macedonia is one of the countries that exports food to European countries, as well as the textile, machinery, automotive and digital sectors, and said that it also offers great investment opportunities in the field of food. Bedzeti also said that there are differences in terms of taxes for investments made in the free zone and inland in North Macedonia, and emphasized that 50 percent of the investments made in the free zone are returned as government incentives. Pointing out that some companies from Türkiye also invest in the country, Bedzeti said, “Of course, it is a more virgin country in terms of industry, but it also attracts very large investors. There are about 14 free zones there, especially in many cities. There are also various companies in those free zones. There are companies from America, China, Germany, and Türkiye. We have 5-6 companies from Türkiye.”

Stating that immigrants from all over Turkey and from Bursa are investing in the country, Bedzeti said, “We have many immigrants in Bursa. We have many immigrants from North Macedonia or the Balkans. That is why they want to invest in their own places or in the places where they live, where their grandparents lived. However, the first thing is because there are huge investment opportunities in the country they invest in. If there are no investment opportunities, of course people will be a little more hesitant, but this is because there are huge investment opportunities in North Macedonia right now.” “The country is becoming advantageous,” he said.
