Memli Krasniqi has resigned from the post of leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
In a media conference, Krasniqi announced the decision, where he emphasized that PDK has grown and strengthened in three pairs of elections. But according to him, this is not enough in relation to the ambitions of the political force he has led until today.
For this reason, Memli Krasniqi has decided to resign, describing this decision as a moment for reflection.
“In 2004, I joined PDK. It was a day like today. At that moment, not even in my best wishes had I imagined the journey that awaited me. Over 20 years of engagement with PDK, I had the honor of working for the state and citizens. Among many great honors, I have the honor of my life to sign the declaration of independence. PDK gave me this.
It has been the greatest honor of my life to lead this party. As president, we have gone through many challenges together. In three pairs of elections, PDK has grown and strengthened. Today I am proud of what we have achieved, but this is not the fulfillment of our ambitions. Today, after a long time of reflection, I believe that the right moment has come.
A party that I believe in development, must undergo renewal. Therefore, today I have decided to resign from the position of PDK chairman. This decision is neither recent nor related to recent developments“, Krasniqi emphasized.
