Shortly after his arrival, Minister Lipavský moved to a minefield not far from Kyiv, which he walked along, for example, with the Czech ambassador to Ukraine, Radek Pech. The organization The HALO Trust, which participates in the demining of Ukraine, was waiting on the spot and equipped Lipavský, for example, with a protective vest.
In addition to visiting the minefield, Lipavský will also meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrij Sybiha or Prime Minister Denys Šmyhal. It is not yet clear whether there will be a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Lipavský was welcomed at the train station in Kyiv by the protocol staff of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Ambassador Pech and the Ukrainian Ambassador in Prague Vasyl Zvarych.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for more than ten years, over a thousand days have passed since the full-scale invasion. Since the beginning of the invasion, Lipavský has visited Ukraine for the fourth time, in the past he participated, among other things, in the Council for Foreign Affairs (FAC), which took place in Kyiv last fall.
