The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has accused the Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) of conducting a campaign of political fraud related to the blocking of the municipal budget of Pristina.
In a statement to the media, LDK said that Vetëvendosja is trying to avoid responsibility by claiming credit for a process that, according to them, has blocked it three times in a row.
According to the documents mentioned by the LDK, the transfer of the municipality’s own revenues failed on May 21, June 12 and June 27, 2025, after the VV assemblymen voted against.
This, according to LDK, has paralyzed payments for essential services and damaged the functioning of the capital.
LDK accuses Vetëvendosje of systematically working against the interest of the city to serve party interests.
“This is their political model: create a crisis, hit the city, then declare yourself a hero. A pure political shamelessness,” says the reaction of the LDK.
LDK says that Albin Kurti’s party has systematically worked against the interest of the city to serve its own party interests and they have no facts that support their claims about the blocking of budget funds for Pristina.
“Citizens of Pristina should know: those who are making big words today were the hostage takers of the capital. Those who caused delays and financial risks are now trying to hide behind the propaganda confusion”, declares the LDK.
In the end, the LDK affirmed that it will continue to defend the interest of the city with determination and integrity, “and will not allow Pristina to fall prey to the dangerous tactics of the Vetëvendosje Movement.”
