The winner of the elections of June 7, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared that the Vetëvendosje Movement together with the coalition partners will create the new institutions of Kosovo.
“You must take into account what is evident again that the LVV is the undisputed winner, together with our partners. We will be the bearers of the establishment of the institutions of the eleventh legislature. I am optimistic that things will go well in terms of the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the government”, said Kurti.
For the election of the new president, Kurti said that the process requires cooperation with the opposition parties.
“We are ready, willing and interested in communication and cooperation. This is nothing new from our side and you know that as a government we have made extraordinary offers to the opposition. We have proposed, they have refused and we hope that this time it will be different”, declared Kurti.
While the counting of the votes of the candidates for deputies is nearing the end, the Vetëvendosje Movement is also leading in the counting of the votes cast on June 6 in the 30 diplomatic missions of Kosovo abroad, where it secured an additional mandate, bringing the number of seats won in the new Assembly to 49, a mandate that was removed from the Democratic League of Kosovo, which so far has 19 deputies. PDK continues to retain 24 MPs, while AAK has 8 MPs. The results are still preliminary, as conditional votes, those from persons with special needs and ballots sent by mail from voters outside Kosovo have not yet been included.
