“We agreed on cooperation with Martin Netolicky, because we have a similar view of how politics should work. It’s not about ideology, but about the ability to solve things normally,” said Kuba.
Netolický, who was a member of SOCDEM for 25 years, is, according to Kuba, who worked in ODS for 22 years, an example of a politician who promotes a substantive and practical approach.
“I know him as a person who tries to solve problems honestly and without unnecessary conflicts. This is exactly the style we want to return to politics,” added Kuba.
Netolický, whose 3PK project finished second in the last regional elections with 22.4 percent in the Pardubice region, added that he shares a similar view of politics with Cuba. “Even though we each came from a different background, we were able to find a common language. We always had a hand and a man’s word. And I appreciate that,” he said.
We have time for personalities, says Kuba
The MY and Naše Česko movements will run together in the municipal elections in the Pardubice region this year. If the cooperation proves successful, both Netolicky and Kuba want to develop it and move it to the national level. The target could thus be the parliamentary elections in 2029.
Our Czech Republic was founded by Kuba at the end of last year, while Netolicky transformed the MY movement last year from the original regional movement Spoleczne pro kraj.
Netolický has been at the head of the Pardubice region since 2012, Kuba at the head of Jihočeský since 2020.
Both politicians have faced criticism that they lack significant national faces in their movements, so the connection gives logic in this direction. “The parliamentary elections are only four years away. We have time to gradually introduce other personalities and experts who will stand behind specific topics. We don’t want to rush anything or build a team only on ‘media stars’. We want a team of real people who have behind them believable stories and results. I think that within a few days we will present to the public other personalities who will strengthen our team,” said Kuba.
