The candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement for Prime Minister called on the citizens of Kosovo to come out and vote en masse. Albin Kurti also addressed the media in Serbian, where he said to vote for those who work for their benefit.
“The higher the turnout of citizens in the elections, the greater the legitimacy of the institutions and the more solid their stability. Today, those who vote decide“, Kurti appealed.
The same call came from the candidate for prime minister from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ardian Gjini.
“I invite the citizens of Kosovo to come out and vote and take Kosovo into their own hands. Kosovo belongs only to the citizens and they must have their say today“.
The candidate for prime minister from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, after voting, declared that today he decides for the next four years.
“I invite all citizens of Kosovo to use this right. Today we decide on the future for the next four years“, he said.
The honorary chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, voted accompanied by his mother in Gllogjan. While Lista Serbe, as in every process, voted in an organized manner in North Mitrovica.
After voting in Peja, the head of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi, announced that the CEC will check 10 percent of all polling stations, in order to assess whether a recount is needed or not.
“The CEC will check 10 percent of all polling stations after the sensitive material is returned and will check 10 percent of the ballot boxes. Then we will see the trend whether it will need a recount or not. As for the operation of the counting table, there will be an additional monitor at the counting table, so that the officials can monitor the counting process.“
Over 1.9 million citizens are voting today to elect the 120 deputies of the new Assembly, while the voting process for the diaspora was closed the day before.
