Kosovo towards early elections – President Osmani meeting with party leaders to set the date

A day after the second failure of the Vetëvendosje Movement to form the new government, the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani is discussing with the leaders of the parliamentary parties to set the date of early elections.

The chairman of Vetëvendosje Albin Kurti, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo Bedri Hamza, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo Lumir Abdixhiku, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj took part in the meeting.

Also present were the head of the Initiative Fatmir Limaj and the leaders of the two parties Guxo and Alternativa Faton Peci and Mimoza Kusari-Lila. The leaders of the parties of the non-Serb communities also participated in the meeting with Osman.

On Wednesday, Glauk Konjufca, the second mandated by the Vetëvendosje Movement, the party that came first in the February 9 elections, like his predecessor Albin Kurti, failed to be elected prime minister, paving the way for new elections. Before the meeting, the leaders of PDK and AAK declared that they preferred December 21 or January 11 as the date for the development of this process.
