The Assembly of Kosovo has not been constituted this time, although the proposed candidate for chairman was the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati.
Murati was proposed by Donika Gervalla in the name of the Vetevendosje Movement, however, he failed to secure the necessary majority of 61 votes. Of the 115 MPs present, 57 voted in favor, 51 against, while 6 abstained.
Following the failure of the next session, PDK leader Memli Krasniqi has called the candidacy intentional to fail to obtain sufficient support from political parties.
He accused the Vetevendosje Movement of deliberately not wanting the Assembly to be constituted.
“They once again brought a candidate who knew exactly that they did not receive the votes because we have made it clear that the PDK does not vote for any of the former Kurti Cabinet members, including the head of the parliamentary group as for clarity. constitute the Assembly because the ministers have no chance of getting votes, ”Krasniqi said.
On the other hand, Donika Gervalla said the blockage is not related to special names, but to the opposition that does not want to be costing the Assembly.
“The blockage is not linked to special names, related to the opposition’s unwillingness to go to a new phase. The fear of the opposition by the Kurti 3 government has been open in recent days, weeks and months,” she said.
This was the 56th attempt at the constituent session to elect the Speaker of Parliament, but again without success. The next hearing is scheduled to be held on August 24.
The stalemate about the election of the Parliament Speaker has delayed the full constitution of the institutions after the election, deepening the institutional crisis in the country.
