The three candidacies of the Vetevendosje Movement for the new Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo have been overthrown by voting, where the opposition has not accepted any of them. Even at this Sunday, August 24, political parties could not ascertain the Assembly, a process that has been dragged for months.
None of the candidates Hekuran Murati, who had the second vote, Dimal Basha and Arberie Nagavci, managed to get the votes needed to be elected Speaker of Parliament.
MP Dimal Basha has failed to get enough votes, with only 57 MPs voting in favor, 25 against and 24 abstention. While the other two candidates Hekuran Murati and Arberie Nagavci provided only 55 votes in favor.
PDK leader Memli Krasniqi reiterated the party’s stance that they do not vote names from the cabinet. Krasniqi has called for the next session in the event of a failure to a proposal, to take a break for consultation between parliamentary groups.
“Through the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, MP Sala Jashari tried to approve the 10 -minute pause request, Dehari ignored him and today could be the best opportunity to vote the Speaker of Parliament even if he were Dimal Basha. We do not owe it to vote for VV, ”Krasniqi said.
AAK MP Time Kadrijaj has also criticized the Vetevendosje Movement for the lack of consultation with parliamentary groups before the proposal of names for parliamentary leadership.
“It takes consultation between parliamentary groups. We have given some attitudes and names that we would automatically vote for, but other candidates need preliminary consultation,” she said.
The next hearing will be held on August 26.
