A serious incident happened last evening in Mitrovica, Kosovo, where a 37-year-old man was killed with a knife, while his brother was injured.
According to Kosova Press, the Police announces that the case happened on the evening of May 27, 2026, around 10:00 p.m., when information was received that a person was stabbed to death in the Regional Hospital in South Mitrovica.
Sources from the hospital said that the victim, a 37-year-old male, did not manage to survive his injuries.
In this case, another person was also injured, identified as the victim’s brother, who after the initial treatment in the hospital emergency in Mitrovica was sent to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo for further treatment. According to the medical staff, his condition is out of danger.
Police units have come to the scene and have started investigations related to the case. By order of the prosecutor for serious crimes, the dead body was sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Prishtina.
The police have arrested the suspect, a 31-year-old male, while a knife with which a criminal offense is suspected to have been committed has also been seized.
By the prosecutor’s decision, the suspect was ordered to be detained for 48 hours, while the investigations for the full disclosure of the case are continuing.
